Bichon Frise Coloring Pages

A Bichon Frise looks a lot like a little cloud that learned to wag its tail. The name comes from French and roughly means "curly little dog," which is about as honest as a name can get!

About the Bichon Frise

Bichons have been charming people for hundreds of years. Their ancestors sailed around the Mediterranean with traders, and by the 1500s they were favourites at the French royal court. King Henry III liked his so much that he's said to have carried them in a little basket hung around his neck! When royal fashions changed, Bichons found new work with circus performers and street musicians, where their clever tricks drew a crowd.

That fluffy white coat hardly sheds and just keeps growing, so Bichons need regular trims to keep their round powder puff shape.

Coloring a white dog is a fun puzzle since the paper is already white. Leave most of the fur bare and add soft shading in the curls with pale grey or cream. Some Bichons have a hint of apricot around the ears, so a light touch of peach works too. Their eyes and nose are very dark, almost black, which makes the face pop. Then have fun with the background. Bright daisies and a blue sky make all that white fur stand out even more.
