5 fun facts about ballet:

Ballet shoes, or pointe shoes, have been used since the 19th century to allow ballerinas to dance on the tips of their toes. The shoes have a hard sole and a box in the toe area to support the dancer's weight.
The most famous ballet production of all time is probably Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." It was first performed in 1877 and is still widely performed today.
Ballet dancers wear tutus to give the illusion of weightlessness and gracefulness while they dance. The tutu was first introduced in the 19th century and has been an iconic part of ballet costumes ever since.
Ballet is not just for women! Male ballet dancers, or "danseurs," are an integral part of ballet productions. They often perform lifts and partner work with female dancers and are highly skilled in their own right.
Ballet has inspired many other forms of dance and art, including modern dance, jazz dance, and even fashion. Ballet movements and poses can be seen in fashion shoots and on the runway, as well as in other forms of popular culture like movies and TV shows.

Gardening: I like to think I have a green thumb, but it has a few brown speckles. My plants and I are working on it.
Animals: I adore my pets and they bring me so much joy, but oh, the chores! Why can’t they clean up after themselves?

I earned my degree back in the early '90s, and as a lifelong learner, I continue to delve into the things I love. This includes technology (though I struggle to keep up!), art, early childhood education, history, and mythology as it relates to sociology.
