Azeroth is the world where World of Warcraft happens, and it's home to orcs, night elves, dwarves, pandaren and a lot of other folk who don't always get along. There are heroes in shiny armour, wolf-people from Gilneas and demons from the Burning Legion, so there's plenty to meet here.
World of Warcraft is an online game where thousands of players explore the same fantasy world at once. Blizzard Entertainment launched it in 2004, and people are still playing it today.
The world is called Azeroth. Players pick a race and a class, like an orc shaman or a human mage, then head off to complete quests, fight monsters and make friends. Everyone also joins one of two sides that don't get along. The Alliance has humans and dwarves, and the Horde has orcs and trolls.
Players team up in groups called guilds to take on tricky dungeons, and some like to battle other players in what's called PvP. Every so often a new expansion adds new lands, races and villains, so there's always something new to find.
