Fenrir the wolf from Norse Mythology

Fenrir is one of the most formidable and intriguing figures in Norse mythology, often depicted as a gigantic and fearsome wolf. According to the myths, Fenrir is the son of the god Loki and the giantess Angrboða, making him part of a monstrous brood alongside his siblings, the serpent Jörmungandr and the half-dead, half-living Hel. Fenrir's size and strength grew at such an alarming rate that the gods, fearing their own safety, decided to chain him up. However, Fenrir broke every fetter they placed upon him until the dwarves crafted Gleipnir, a magical ribbon that appeared delicate but was imbued with the strongest of bindings. Fenrir, suspecting trickery, agreed to be bound by Gleipnir only if one of the gods placed their hand in his mouth as a pledge of good faith. The brave god Týr stepped forward, and when Fenrir found he could not break free, he bit off Týr's hand. It is prophesied that during Ragnarök, the end of the world, Fenrir will break free and engage in a fierce battle with the gods, ultimately swallowing Odin whole, but then being slain by Odin's son, Víðarr. Fenrir's tale is one of destiny, betrayal, and the struggle between the cosmic forces of order and chaos.
