Dragon-type Pokemon Coloring Pages

Welcome to our Dragon-type Pokémon coloring pages!

Dragon Pokémon embody the strength of myths and legends, often appearing as mighty serpents, winged beasts, or mystical guardians. Their elegant designs make them especially fun to color, from shimmering scales to fiery breath.

Dragon-types are strong against other Dragon-types, but they are weak to Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type moves (Fairy came later, in Gen VI). They resist Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric moves, making them resilient against many common opponents. Some Dragon Pokémon have abilities like Levitate, which can remove a Ground weakness, or powerful signature moves like Outrage and Dragon Claw.

Charizard: Not a dragon type but looks like one!

In Generation 1, the Dragon type was extremely powerful, with few weaknesses and powerful moves. Giving Charizard the Dragon typing would have unbalanced it against the other starters.

Charizard is not a Dragon-type Pokémon; its official typing is Fire/Flying.

While Charizard has a dragon-like appearance and learns dragon-themed moves, its Fire/Flying type was kept to balance gameplay in the early generations of Pokémon.

Dragon-type Pokémon are among the most elusive and powerful in the Pokémon world. Nineteen legendary Pokémon are Dragon-type, and eight others have pseudo-legendary stats, making them especially strong and rare.

They can be difficult to train because they require more experience points per level than most non-legendary Pokémon, and their late evolutions mean they spend longer in weaker forms. Many final-evolution Dragon-types also have a 4× weakness to Ice-type moves, making strategic play important.

In Generations 1–3, all Dragon-type moves were categorized as Special.
