Mythology of the Egyptian god, Anubis:

Anubis

In the time of ancient Egypt, a realm of gods and magic, Anubis, the jackal-headed god, held a crucial role in the afterlife. As the guardian of the dead, Anubis presided over the solemn ceremony known as the "Weighing of the Heart."Deep within the sacred halls of the underworld, souls journeyed after departing the mortal world. Anubis awaited them, ready to guide them through the judgment that would determine their fate.

One day, a soul named Khepri arrived, nervous yet curious about the afterlife. Anubis greeted Khepri kindly and explained the process. The heart of the deceased was placed on one side of a golden scale, while the Feather of Ma'at, representing truth and justice, was placed on the other.

As the scales balanced, Thoth, the ibis-headed god of wisdom, recorded the results. Anubis observed with his keen eyes, ensuring the process was fair and just. If the heart was lighter than the feather, it meant the soul had led a righteous life, and they would proceed to the blissful Fields of Aaru. However, if the heart weighed heavy with wrongdoing, the soul faced a more challenging journey.

Khepri's heart was filled with kindness and good deeds, and as the scale balanced perfectly, Anubis nodded approvingly. Thoth recorded the outcome, and with a warm smile, Anubis guided Khepri toward the radiant afterlife.

Anubis, the guardian of the dead, continued his duty with unwavering devotion, ensuring that justice and fairness prevailed in the afterlife of ancient Egypt. And so, the Weighing of the Heart ceremony became a timeless symbol of the balance that awaited every soul on their journey beyond the mortal realm.
