Meet Titanus Doug, the internet's favorite Titan. Spotted for just a fleeting moment in Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), this rotund, grey-black reptile was never given an official name by the filmmakers... he was simply listed as a "scaly quadruped" in the art books. But fans took one look at his wide green eyes, his rows of jagged dorsal spikes, and what appeared to be a big goofy grin as he boldly stole food from Kong himself, and decided he needed a name.
They called him Doug.
Eventually this was embraced by director Adam Wingard and was written into MonsterVerse canon. Doug even returned in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024), still up to his scavenging ways.
Designed to resemble a distant ancestor of Godzilla himself, Doug is a creature of the Hollow Earth, a fearless, thick-skinned survivor who doesn't need atomic breath or a battle cry. He just needs his next meal and the audacity to go get it. These pages celebrate the Hollow Earth's most beloved resident.

Dreaming with Doug
I'm not sure Doug could actually defeat some of the bigger Titans, but a guy can dream!
Every night, deep in the glowing jungles of the Hollow Earth, Doug curls up after a long day of scavenging and closes his wide green eyes. And he dreams. He dreams of epic battles... of standing toe to toe with the mighty Kong and of trading blows with fearsome sea serpents and great winged creatures. In Doug's dreams, he roars so loud the cavern walls shake and even Godzilla himself takes notice. In his dreams, Doug is the greatest Titan who ever lived.
Then he wakes up.
He blinks. He looks around. He lets out a long, thunderous burp that echoes through the entire Hollow Earth. And he shambles off in search of his next meal.
